Bad Lt1 Camaro

The car does fine if you drive at normal speed, but as soon as you give it gas the least bit hard a crazy popping noise comes from right under the gear shift column. If it gets under any load at all it does this...107,000 miles..maybe it's time?

It's an A4..its sfifts great until u accelerate a little hard....alot of times shifting from 1st to 2nd you hear a big clank from the rear end..iv got underneath the car and nothing's loose

i had that happen to me 3 times 2ce it was the tranny once it was the transmission mounts

how did u chech the transmission mounts? were they just loose?

Sounds like a bad trans mount. I would pull it out and take a look to see if it damaged. Just have to support the trans with a jack and drop the cross member, then two bolts to pull the mount off.

You'll be able to tell once you have it off and look at it. Torn rubber, excessive play or wear, etc. It'll be obvious.
