I unbolted everything to the point where I can pull my valve covers and I've been using LS1howto to get there.

I cannot get my valve cover out of my bay because I have a line the looks to be covered in duct tape and said "CAUTION FLAMMABLE!" on it. Can I remove this and if so, how?

That line is most likely a fuel line. Do you have pictures of the situation?

The duct taped line and the metal line next to it that seems to recess into the dash (I think thats AIR or EGR, Idk, 2001 car)

Yep, thats the feed fuel line. Just get a 3/8ths GM quick release and pop the line off the rail and take the cover off. Its not going to hurt anything.

That's not duct tape, but as indicated, the lines are for the fuel feed and EVAP system.

Ok, I need help getting it off, I can't figure it out. Theres no place for a wrench, and the other line (that goes into the electrical thing next to the green **** in the second pic) won't come out.

just wiggle the valve cover out. you don't have to take the fuel line off....

No need to disconnect fuel line to remove the cover. Just wiggle it out like stated above.

as stated above you are going to need a release tool to do that, you can either use a a/c line tool 3/8" or a Gm gas line tool

Ok, I managed to get it out without disconnecting the fuel feed.

Any tips for removing rockers?

Checking for a bent pushrod.

I'm done, I didn't find anything.

My car makes a diesel sound and its coming from the driver side, one of the first 2 cylinders. I've been told it might be a lifter, now I'm thinking that too.

I'll have a new sound clip later.

I believe they are. They looks bronze, round edges with a divit, I don't really know what to look for on a stock rod to identify it as stock.

Sounds like the stockers...Replace them. get a good set of Trick flow 7.4 Chrome molly. you will not have to worry anymore, and you will know for sure.

pull the bolts out of the cover (not necessary but makes it a little easier) and slide the cover between the two "duct taped" lines and the power steering.
