i have never seen a set of gears do that because they were defective, who installed them?

Looks just like my Richmond 4.10's when I broke 'em on a 4500 RPM ET-Street 3700lb. dump ... That was my 7.50 1/8th mile run

It is still a 10 bolt. I'm not sure the gears are at fault here. Richmond states that the 10 bolt is only good for 400 hp max and that traction and "clutch dumps" will keep it from going that far....

If you drive it like you are trying to break it....you will....

The pinion on a 10 bolt/4.10 gets so small their doomed to fail.

Agree'd

4.10 gears in a 10 bolt are tiny... Any gear set can do that.
