Default Motor trend ranks new camaro 10th place out of 10

August Motor trend tests 10 cars and ranks camaro 10th. Didnt think too much of it until I read whats cars it was placed up against. Heres the cars in order from last to first. 10: 2010 camaro ss 9: 2009 bmw 135i 8: 2010 Jaguar XFR 7: 2010 Nissan Nismo 370z 6: 2009 Zr1 Corvette 5:2010 GT500 mustang 4: 2009 CTS-v 3: 2009 Mazda Mx-5 miata 2:2009 Audi r8 1: 2009 Porche Cayman S PDK I am in no means saying the Camaro is the best built car in the world but damn got beat out by a Miata and 370z i dont know.

The Miata being higher than the CTS-V is all I had to read to completely disagree with their entire list.

That's why I stopped reading Motortrend. They have an obvious bias toward upscale foreign cars ( that no ordinary person could afford) and the ford mustang, no matter how inferior it is compared to the GM competition.

I thought the same thing when I read it. When I saw the Mustang over the ZR-1 I just laughed. The ZR-1 was far superior than any of the cars in most categories yet there it sat in 6th. Just a joke.

motor trend is marketed to people who have very little knowledge about cars. motor trend is highly biased towards high end european and asian cars.

They complained that the ZR1 didn't handle at speed as good as some of the other cars. I think they failed to take into account that the ZR1 was traveling much FASTER in all of the tests than the other cars. That will make a bit of a difference taking a curve at 70mph (MIata) vs 100mph. shooot....

Did any of you actually bother to READ the article and not just look at the lap times? They had a professional driver with them judging the cars as well, and were ranking them by best DRIVERS CAR, not best performance. The feel, balance, and control played a huge part in the judging, thats why the 3800lbs Camaro with 20" wheels came last...

I read it, and I always have to laugh when I see somebody use the "Driver's Car" reasoning. If everyone agreed on what made a good driver's car, wouldn't all cars be the same? The fact is, some driver's prefer very different aspects in their car than others. The article is stupid because they complain about all the work they have to do when they drive a ZR1 compared to how easy it is to drive a Miata. Drive the ZR1 at the Miata pace, and you won't have much work to do. Not very many drivers I know would choose the order the way they did, that is what makes it BS and it certainly doesn't represent the driver in me.

Obviously a slow *** maita is gonna "feel" like it handles better. Thats because its going a hell of alot slower around the whole track than the ZR1. One of the Dumbest Comparisons I've seen Motortrend do.

I was just going to say that. It was the driver's car, so obviously the Miata is going to be a little more perky around the corners, and the Mustang will be a little bit more "comfortable" to sit in.

The one of the drivers they used, an ex-nascar guy or something, Randy Probst was railing on the Camaro, and talked too high on the Mustang.

When the Camaro got a 12.9 1/4 and 4.5 0-60 smacking around almost every other car, they hardly acknowledged it, but when the Camaro's breaking was just 4 ft off the average, they flipped out

Typical American Car publication. I don't bother to read Road and Track, Car and Driver or Motortrend anymore, enough said!

Its a good car, people like it, people croud around them where ever there at...... yet someone has to write an article like that right after the car hits the streets. I dont see a miata or 370 getting that attention, but I guess the stupid article wasnt about that.
