Can't decide what I should do. The thing is...my car already has a stall...a Circle-D 3000. The stall does do decently though, especially for what it is...consistently hits high 1.6 to low 1.7 60's. Would it be worth going with a bigger stall first or should I just go straight to the cam? If I did get a cam, it would be something decent sized, but I don't want anything too big or too small. Thanks for the help.

I'd cam it next. How much better do you want the 60' time with (per your sig) stock looking rear tires?

Forgot to mention that I now run it on Convo Pro's...rear tires are 275/50/15 ET Streets, and I have skinnies up front. The car doesn't look quite so stock anymore haha.

Stalls are matched to cams and there are different requirements depending on what you pick. BUT a largish cam will not see true potention with out pairing it with the correct rear gear and converter.

PERSONALLY, I'd do a cam since you have something in there and its a quality 'verter BUT you should look at something 3500-4500 and you will really see a diff in performance.

Has the car been tuned? has the TQ management been decreased or removed?

Yes...it's been fully dyno tuned for the bolt ons already.

What are you looking to do with the car?

Personally I'd run at 4000 stall if I was looking for a strong balance of strip and street performance. A true 3000 stall is decent, but it's pretty small and it will seem ever smaller if you go to a big cam. How much cam you want to run 224/224 - 232/24x? Where in that range? Typically a 22x/22x cam is pretty mild, would work well with a smaller converter. A bigger 23x/24x would work better with a 4000-4500 stall.

I'd probably be going with something in the 23X/23X range.

I'd pick a cam and then see how your converter works out.

Cam it, just put one in with a decent amount of advance in so it makes good power on the bottom end and it should work fine.
232/236 with a 111+4, or something like that and you should be good.

Cam it for sure

I'd REALLY like to do the cam next...I'm just afraid my current stall might be too small.

Get the cam and since you ALREADY have the stall, if you wind up getting a cam thats a little big for a 3000 stall, just send it to circle d and have them restall it.

You can always have it restalled to whatever speed you need.

did you end up buying that ss4000...i cant remember...if you did throw that bad boy in...i would not get in a rush with the cam it is the end of the season and you should research more and get a better idea of what you wanna do with the car...

no need to rush the cam install it is a good chunk of change...

I did buy the SS4000. I'm not going to rush the cam install...most likely would not be doing it til spring...I just want to get a good idea what the cost will be and start buying parts if I have to.
