Default 4L60E shifter

I wanted to change the factory shifter out and get a racing one in it. Does any one know of a company that has aftermarket shifters for a 99 camaro that's a direct bolt in?

No one does... You can get a B&M Hammer for an A4 but it isn't a direct bolt in...

It's no ricer i'll tell you that. I just don't like the look of the factory shifter.

Why would a shifter be a ricer mod? Maybe a neon light upshift **** would be but a B&M Hammer Shifter is definately not a rice mod. If you want to manually run through the gears it will only allow to shift one gear at a time so you don't hit neutral.

The B&M Pro Ratchet shifter will also work in an A4, you will have to change the top front portion of the center console(m6 style) to make it fit but it will work.

I didn't like the look of the camaro shifter either. Solution: swapped one out of a t/a- firebird. Problem solved for less than $20 from a local junk yard.

edit- yes, its a direct bolt in- just remove the front staple pin and viola!

B&M makes several different ***** with buttons for a T brake or line lock or whatever that fit both the Hammer and the Pro Ratchet.

What's better about the T/A shifter? I've got
T/A seats now so maybe I should keep going
Any pic pointers etc. that show why to do it?

I just shortened the factory shifter so it sits about 1/2" above the console. Looks nice too.

the T/A shifter is a T-handle wrapped in leather with a thumb button for shifting. as opposed to the camaro style where its just a little **** with a button on top.
