Car pops out of 1st gear?
Hey I recently purchased a 02 Camaro SS and I have had the car about 3 weeks now and it has happened 4 times. And its only first gear? Also sometimes the gears are a little hard to get into and other times its smooth, mostly 1st and reverse. Others are usually smooth.
The car got the T56 rebuilt in 2006 got new rings, keys, springs, pads, seals, 3/4 shift fork, first gear, and 1/2 syncro and Spec 3 clutch, and then 8 months later LS7 clutch and flywheel. Also has a hurst short throw shifter. I have the receipts.
Any idea on what the heck is wrong? and cost? Thanks for all the help guys.

Hey Guys! I have had a 95 Z/28 (manual - 6 speed) for over 4 years now and since I bought it the reverse has been a real pain in the ***. The guy at the dealership told me I have to hold reverse in or it will pop out (which it does) and that a lot of the Z/28's do that. (Typical car salesman, i guess, lol...but I know better now!) So, I've heard all kinds of theories about this. Some people say its a cable that needs to be adjusted, some say transmission work, and now I'm reading these forums and hear a lot about syncronizers.
In this case, When I put my car in reverse, I have to jam it in there pretty hard and hold it, which I've gotten very good at over the past 4 years, lol. Most of the time that works just fine, it's just ANNOYING AS HELL! Sometimes it will grind and I have to jam it in there and try again, backing uphill is EXTREMELY HARD! So, what do you guys think it is?
