Default changed oil now change oil light comes on

so i changed my oil a couple days ago now only in high rpms does the change oil light come on. kind of wierd. any ideas. i used mobile 1 5w 30, 6 1/2 qrts. and filter.

i never put more than six in, dunno if too much oil will cause a light to come on or not, never had that issue lol

Did you reset the monitoring system? And this is the change oil light, or is it low oil light? 6.5qts does seem a bit much though, usually 5.5 to 5.75.

I thought it was a bit much myself but I got that off this site, lol. I will reset it and I was going to drain some of it out also

if you use your dipstick.. it will tell you if you have too much oil..

wow 6 1/2 quarts... I normally only use 5 quarts when I do an oil/oil filter change. Try taking some of the oil out and see if that helps out.

you not confuse with tranmission fluid and oil right ? 6+ quart look like for automatic tranmission, you not miss read that and think that how much for engine oil right ? if ok if you do, just kinda loose the drain plug and get some out.

dont forget to grease you radio volume buttons after the oil change, helps with hp

IM SURE IT FOR TRANMISSION ATF ! I seen 5 quart only, 5.5 quart if you use BIG long filter.

I've also heard if you remove the box thingy where the filter is and plug the big hole in your tb you will also have hp gains also using an exhaust stretcher............lol come on now how retarded do you think I am. And the page I copied was a sticky for internal engine specs nothing to do with the tranny.

lol u havent drain it yet ? what oil filter did you use ? are you using big version filter ? it hold about half or more quart, and help trap more dirt then small filter.
