Question help got a question about ls1 oil pump

So im about to swap in a cam in camaro here shortly and today i tore apart a 5.3. And where the pickup tube bolts to pump its in the very back and a mfer to get. Does the oil pan have to be dropped? And is the ls1 goin to be the same way or is the bolt connecting those two together in the front and not in the back? And if they are the same whats the best way to get it out and do a new pump bc i have one and was wanting to throw it in while i was at it. But it has been rebuilt not long ago anf still has good pressure. Any help will be appreciated thanks

The pickup tube bolt. In front on ls1? Or back of pump like 5.3 and 4.8?

Yes you will need to drop pan. The front should drop about an inch which should get you there...

Loosen all the bolts to the pan and it should drop bout 1/2" or so. You might have to pry on it. Good luck and becareful with that bolt
