I've used EFILive v6 and I've used HPTuners. It always
has been a fussy bitch to get to go.

Yeah, a guy tried 8 times to do mine like 6 months ago with a Tech II, I have to try again because I have to have this SES light go out. I got another code last week for something else and I never knew I had it because the SES light stays on because of this Crank Relearn having NOT been done yet to clear it.

Do you think the dealership would charge alot for a 4 second procedure?

I have a Genysis and Tech II. The Genysis says that it will do it but it won't for some reason. The Tech II will. If you were near Cincy I would do it for free for you, maybe you can make a post to see if there is someone in your area with a Tech II that will help you.

My experience is with EFILive and it seems to work as long as you pay attention to the following:

None of the following diagnostic trouble codes must be set - or the CKP learn procedure will not run:
• P0335 Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor A Circuit
• P0336 Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor A Performance
• P0341 Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Performance Bank 1 Sensor A
• P0342 Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit Low Bank 1 Sensor A
• P0343 Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit High Bank 1 Sensor A
• P0117 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit Low
• P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit High
• P1539 Air Conditioning (A/C) Clutch Feedback Circuit High Voltage
• P1546 Air Conditioning (A/C) Clutch Feedback Circuit Open
• P0705 Transmission Range (TR) Switch Circuit
• P0706 Transmission Range (TR) Switch Performance
• P1810 Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) Position Switch Circuit
• P1825 Internal Mode Switch-Invalid Range

-ECT must be between 150F and 220F
-RPM must be below 2400rpm before starting the procedure
-TPS must be 0%
-VSS must be 0
-Apply the parking brake
-Put in Park/Neutral
-Turn off all accessories
-Keep foot on brake

- connect scantool (click green connect button),
- goto DVT tab,
- select controller,
- click Activate,
- goto Learning subtab,
- click CASE (see next line),
- open throttle to increase RPM above 4000 within 10 seconds (see next line),
- when you hear/feel stumble/misfire immediately release throttle,
- let engine spindown to idle,
- after reaching idle, turn off engine and wait 15 seconds,
- while waiting 15 seconds, you can click Deactivate.

Also, the wind must be out of the NW at no more than 15mph

you can just turn that code off, it is just for misfire detection and wont have any effect on driveability or hp, if you have a cammed engine you probly already have the misfire tables changed or turned off

haha, the wind..... The jet I fly has a max tailwind component of 10 knots for engine start....maybe the wind was blowing up my tailpipes when this guy was trying to do it....lol

The guy that tried it did not do all those things. When the rpm reached 4,000 rpm the engine shut off each time.

I'll print this out and bring it with me next time.

Thanks.......

Yes, my misfire tables are turned off.

My friend has an OBDII scanner just like the dealerships have. Can he use that scanner to turn off this crank relearn thing so my SES light stays off?

My tune was done in 2002 by Ed Wright.

My friend has an OBDII scanner....so I'll have him do it than.

So...what do I tell him to turn off exactly? That will turn the SES light off and disregard doing the Crank Relearn......

Cool...thanks.

Ok, so I'll have him un-check that box p0315, set no eror reporting. How do I get the SES light out though? Just have someone clear the code with a code scanner? Like at Advance Auto.
