At 30,000 miles it would not be required to switch them out. Some people might jsut to have a fresh set but I would still expect decent life out of some that only have 30k on them.

What are the cam specs?
The gm lifters should be fine though unless it's one radical cam and you'll be spinning it to 7500?

If your not pulling the heads- leave them in. There are thousands of cammed cars out there with over 100k on the stock lifters.

If the heads are off I would change them for peice of mind.

Hope I get good miles out of mine, but there's alot cammed LS2 lifter failure threads on LS1GTO. Makes me nervous, although I only have 23K...18K of those miles cammed.

Gm now uses just one set of lifters on all exept for the dod motors. They are the same as the Ls7's.

When Gm designed the Ls7 they redesigned the lifters and GM just ended up using this design across the board on all their Ls motors exept the DOD ( displacement on demand) motors. They are part# 12499225
