decking a set of 243 heads for 5.3
ive got a set of 243 heads that im going to be installing with a Zo6 cam on a 5.3 shortblock, but i dont want the compression to drop significantly so im trying to figure out how much i need to take off the heads to get back to 61 cc's.
this engine will be turbo'd as well so im not too concerned if the head cc's come out a bit over 61 cc's....but at the same time i dont wanna go with a 8.5-1 compression ls, id still like some drivability.
how much should i deck the heads??

Ahh... The rule of .006"= 1cc drop is not linear throughout the entire combustion chamber. The first .006" removes more material than the second, second more than the third, and so on and so on...
While .006" = 1cc is very close, it's not exact. So .030" doesn't remove 5cc exactly.
