Default School me on Keyless entry.

Im planning on having a keyless entry system installed in my car, have a few questions.

Who makes the best ones, how hard is it to install, should I have an audio shop do it?

Thanks in advance.

Doesn't it have factory keyless entry? Look for option code AU0 on the door sticker. Perhaps you only have to buy a remote key fob and program it.

if you have power locks shouldn't the keyless entry be standard?

It will have a LED on the top cover of the dashboard, right between the grille/vent on it. There will also be a sensor on the back, by the antenna/spare. These are two key parts that will help you identify if it has a factory alarm. If it does, just get yourself a remote, program it and bingo!

You may or may not have the factory alarm with keyless entry. If you have the alarm you most certainly have keyless entry but the reverse is not the case - it is possible to have keyless entry without having the alarm. The alarm RPO code is UA6.

Try this:

1. Turn the ignition to RUN (do not start engine) then back to OFF
2. Remove the RADIO fuse.
3. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN three times quickly (within five seconds).

If you have keyless entry and could program new remotes, the car will respond by locking the doors, unlocking the driver's door, and popping the hatch. If it does, buy yourself a new key fob from the dealer or ebay and program it. If it doesn't respond, you'll have to look at aftermarket kits.

In any case, turn the ignition OFF and replace the RADIO fuse to exit remote matching mode.
