Default Help me find some 15" or 16" drag wheels and tires

No interest in grinding brake calipers, using stock length rear, and would like a 275 size tire in the rear (smaller in the front)

Really just want it as light as possible.

Would prefer chrome, but black and silver are fine.

Here is the kicker, I have about 800-1000 bucks to spend, can it be done??

800 to 1000? no way at least for new stuff. New tires alone at a minimum are roughly 700.

Wow, nevermind. I was just looking around on JEGS and cannot find anything even close to my price range.

Which aftermarket wheels are the lightest, say from OEWheels?

Yea, the best you can do is buy a used set of billet specialties or welds with tires. I dont think any oewheels are anywhere near the weight of a drag setup

someone was selling a bad *** set of bogarts n tires the other day for 1400, was a great deal and im sure it only lasted an hour before they were sold, yeah op with your budget your not going to find a wheel that you wont have to grind, why not grind , i did and my crap has been fine for 2 years. the only thing in your budget is going to be pro stars, you should be able to get a set with good tires under 900 with shipping from someone on tech

For just wheels, Jim's Tires just dropped his price on Race Stars ... $699 for 3.75/10's, but they are 15's. No 16's, but you could do a 15/17 combo. I am trying to hold out for a good deal on RT-S's with anodized centers, but there are very few selling used wheels only. I also have no interest in grinding and there are very few "budget" options. Keep in mind that even Race Stars require very, very slight grinding on some fbodies.

I'd stay away from Racestars personally, but I won't get into my reasoning why. Weld RTS wheels are the only true street wheel that are SFI cert'd front and rear and are build for LS1 brakes. The 15x10.275 with 7.5" backspace will run you around 259.99 from Summit, and the front 15x4.075 with 1.5" backspace fronts will run you 225.99 from Summit. So a set of those can be had for under a thousand (972.00) and will be a great street/strip wheel. If you're looking for a drag only wheel that will have no grinding issues, I'd look into Bogarts. They are great wheels as well, and Steve goes out of his way to help members out here.

You were probably looking at the three piece bolted Weldstar RT wheel. The RTS wheels are similar, only a welded three piece design (no bolts)

15x4.08 w/medium mounting pad height 11.4# per wheel
15x10.08 w/medium mounting pad height 16.24# per wheel

Camaro396 ...I didn't see a 15x10.275 in a 7.5 bs w/medium pad height.
