It might pick you up 5-7rwhp. The long tube headers are where the real gains are at, I would try and get a set of those if you are looking for power.

Ah I see you are in California, I didn't see that before. That makes it a little tougher, I know the California emissions laws are veeery strict.

I'd look for power elsewhere. Not worth the risk of getting caught.

I bought one of those Bassani ORYs about 10 years ago before getting real headers. It did not fit and I had to send it back. I hope their QC has gotten better by now.

Don't do it. Way too expensive for a minimal gain.

Wait so you're ok with going completely catless but you're scared of long tubes for inspection purposes? Either one is just as illegal, moreso the cat removal as that's a federal crime also and could warrant big fines if your state is that strict.

Anyone in their right mind will be able to tell that you have no cats on, so doing that will warrant a trip to the referee anyway. That's unless you always can shut off the car when being inspected.

For a Cali setup and no friends in the smog business,
I'd recommend the setup I have - JBA shorties (used),
Mufflex tubes that swap straight up for cats once a
year, and stock or SLP Y.

You'll have to wait a while for good prices on a good shorty.
There are some craptastic ones on eBay, don't do that.
I think I watched the classifieds for about 6 months before
I saw a price I liked. But people are swapping off for LTs
all the time, you just have to wait. Meanwhile the stock
logs are not that bad ('00 if you need EGR, '01-'02 if no)
and the swap is straight-up when you find them.

The Mufflex cat delete pipes were offered new back in the early '00s. I had a set that I bought for my '00 WS6 in ~2001, I don't think they still make these but you could try some internet hunting for a used set perhaps. They were a direct bolt-in for any 2000-'02 stock Y-pipe/manifold setup.
