5.3 horsepower list, singup now!! With all of these "budget" and "junkyard" builds coming together, id like to see what we have out tree for high hp 5.3s. As people have talked before, the 5.3s are awesome on boost and do very well. I'd like to know how well. I jut finished mine up and was more than impressed with the results. Maybe we can get this stickied and get a good list of what great numbers are out there.

A quick rundown of your setup would be nice

This is much like what I was requesting in the threads started by INTMD8.
Great idea to get all of the combos listed!
I am finishing up my JY 5.3 with a PT7675 billet compressor wheel.
Hoping to get on a dyno in a month or so.

2005 L33 5.3, PT7675 .96 AR. stock 799 heads, LS1 intake.
824 flywheel on 16psi with LS1 intake and 224/228 114 cam, head studs.
717rw on 17psi through unlocked 4L80E, forged pistons and rods were added before the engine went in the car. 9.5 to 1 compression.
10.39 at 131 on 17" radials in a 3540lb 71 Nova.
Nowhere near done as Ive ran up in the 22lb area for boost on the street, no dyno numbers or track times for that yet. Expecting mid 9's and 800rwhp eventually.

has run a 8.97 and as fast as 153mph with surging boost
Im currently working on a boost controler and building my own intercooler. And I expect to be whomping on it in a few weeks.

Aluminum 5.3 with 799 heads stock. ARP head bolts and valvesprings only thing aftermarket in engine. Edelbrock proflow, 47-80mm turbo, 160 lb injector e85, powerglide, foxbody chassis, 3250 raceweight. 5.79 at 121 in the 1/8. Made 760 rwhp on my dyno. Over 25 psi to see those numbers.
Built the motor, added a camshaft....on limited passes went 5.64@126. Around 20 psi made 800 rwhp on my dyno.

havent dynoed mine yet as im just waiting for the 80lb injectors to come in the mail.

gona be running on e85 on about 17psi

You should make it ET/Trap. i know im not the only person out there who looks at trap speed more than e.t.
i know you dont have a weight category, and you could add that.. but if its trapping pretty high on relatively low hp then we can just assume its low weight car. just a thought

what u needa think about, take that stock 5.3 that makes 800+ and put rods and pistons in it and another 15psi. THATS what i wanna see. eberyone and theyre brother has seen a junkyard motor.\

e85, stock engine, taken from junkyard, knocked the dirt off, installed an '02 zo6 cam/springs, and boost. stock tty bolts, stock head gaskets, stock rod bolts, stock ring gaps, stock heads, etc.
No times yet(can't give anything away before DragWeek)

ah my friends car went 10.55 @ 133 off the foot brake,
i dont have dyno pulls or quarter runs for my fairmont yet but its a turbo 5.3 and it just went 7.10 @ 106.06mph on a 1.9 60ft haha only 15psi

813whp 707ftlbs @19psi on a garrett gr4508r thru a th400. Motor has 232deg .595" 114lsa comp turbo cam patriot golds, home ported 243's 4.8 flat top pistons and gen lV rods with arp bolts. Vic Jr with elbo and 85 mm tb. EBay water to air ic. Best 1/8 mile time sofar 5.77@126 in a fox coupe.
