Odd Bulb Out

Odd Bulb Out
Alright, so my 95 Bird, I'm having tail light problems. For those who don't know, there are 6 bulbs in the back (excluding the high mount and lp light), 3 to each housing. In the order, left to right, 1-2-3-4-5-6, 2 through 5 use bulb #2057. They are dual filament bulbs. One filament for the regular lights, the other for brakes, signals, and flashers. The problem is with socket 3. When I turn on my lights, it comes on fine. When I turn on my hazards or hit the brakes, the same filament lights up instead of the appropriate filament. I've tried swapping adjacent bulbs with it to the same result, so the problem isn't the bulb.
I only noticed this Saturday night so I don't know how long it's been happening for. My turn signals stopped working a few months ago so I believe the problems could be linked. Anyone experience something similar to this and/or know the fix? Good advice is appreciated.

I'm thinking it's a connection inside the socket since last night, when I got home, it was working again . I tried unplugging the rear light harness and cleaning it when I discovered the problem but that didn't rectify the issue. I may just replace all the sockets with ones that take 3157.

Here's a good write up one of our members put on another site:

This was for the front sockets, but the rears come apart in the same manner.
