Default One piece drive shaft

Hey gang, who was the member that was selling the one piece shaft? I think he was from NJ too with a price of $800?? Anyone remember? I tried searching but no luck. My car is going in for the clutch and starter tomorrow and I would like to try and get this from him if it is still available..

One thing that these shafts have me puzzled with is the top speed.. I have seen thse shafts with a 145mph top speed. What happens when you go over that? BOOM?? Seriously, what are our stock shafts rated for?

Critical speed is the RPM at which the driveshaft is rotating at its natural frequency of vibration. Exceeding the critical speed will result in driveshaft failure, which will likely take your differential and transmission with it.

So why bother installing a one piece shaft with a speed limit on it like 145?? I have gone over that, well over that with my stocker..

We just went over all of this, the critical speed of the DSS one piece alum was like 220 (actual vehicle speed) if my memory serves me correctly. Hold please while I search.

Your memory doesn't serve you correctly. The one-piece aluminum driveshaft has a critical speed of 150 mph and the carbon fiber driveshaft has a critical speed of 250 mph.

I wonder how bad the guy in that video crapped his pants... I remember I had a charge pipe coupler blow off at like 27psi once... Sounded like a shotgun went off under the hood. This is WAY worse

Ha, Looks like those mustangs are living up to the FORD acronym.

... but then again, I could use a new driveshaft myself. Mine is saggy and vibrates after 72mph. I would have jumped on that one-piece that was for sale a while ago, but I read about the speed thing. If it was 10mph higher, I think those things would sell a lot faster.
