If so what gas are you running? What percentage is pump and what percentage is race gas?

Nice, but your compression is low. You can do that easily.. LOL!!

Your compression seems fine for a 300 shot or so as long as your engine is built with correct parts. I would run race gas on a indp fuel system direct ported.

The engine is built for it. I have upgraded my fuel system and on a 200 shot it still maintains over 60 psi of fuel pressure. I am curious to what people run intank..

I plan to do it on straight 93. 11:3:1 compression and a 200 shot.

I hope you are running an external fuel noid with race gas going into a direct port OR planning on decreasing a boat load of timing.

Wow!!! So you tuned it for straight 114 octane? How much of a shot?

I tuned mine for straight C16, it worked out very well and was plenty safe. I could have retuned it on a lower octane fuel. But it didn't matter as the car was fine the way it was.

Im going to try running pump gas on a 300 shot with 114 in the enrichment fuel cell. It will be tuned arond 12.5 to 12.8 N/A and 11.00 on the juice so Im hoping the extra race gas will be enough.

I was told that it is bad to run a different octane in your enrichment cell.... suppose to cause hot spots. Has anyone heard other wise? Oh and I plan on running 11.0-3 to 1 CR with a 200 shot on pump gas.

I wasn't planning on it. It'll be feeding straight off the aeromotive fuel regulator. We've got guys here spraying 175 on 12:5:1 with no more than a msd timing retard. Hopefully the timing tuner can take care of all of that on mine. :)

I'm running - a "good" guess - 600+rwhp and almost 700rwtq. 104 unleaded on a 200 shot of TNT power. I have heads/cam, stock bottom end, RaceX drop in fuel pump. The SS is dyno tuned via LS1Edit. Looking at bumping up to 250 jets this spring. IMO as long as you dyno tune for air fuel and be smart about it, 700/700 can be done - even on a stock bottom end.

Are you high octane leaded guys using a different 02 sensor or none at all?

DERTY

I use the stock sensors, but replace them after every several races. I also keep a few around at the track.

big shot = c16, small shot 94 or 104 if i have it laying around, motor loves the good gas ;) 11.0:1 compression last season. Derty said it well....SAFE, i want my motor to survive :) it is working :)

Vince, my old setup made 654/790 on a TNT 200 direct port. 93 in the tank and 103 in the DP cell. New setup will be C16 in both :)

What cams are you guys running? Id trade 100 ft lbs at 3500 for 60 hp at 5500 all day long for a setup we are doing. Notice some cars are making tons more torque then hp and some are close

Must be nice!!! Is 654rwhp the horsepower you had when you ran your 9's at 141mph? On my small shot I put down 650rwhp:) I have moved on to big boy territory. My problem is I dont want that much tq. I am going to spray later to decrease my tq spike. I want top end power. I will be running two stages in the end. I street race so I want a nasty pull up top instead of all down low. I need traction.

I was planning on doing 93 pump gas in the tank and 104 in the fuel cell, from what I read this is a bad thing to do? Can someone explain why?

If so what gas are you running? What percentage is pump and what percentage is race gas?We made 860 rwhp last year with a YSI 414 LS1, on 104 octane. Never ran pump gas in it.

821rwhp on a 300 shot (On 28x10.5Ws through a Glide), 481rwhp on motor. Pump gas in the fuel tank, C16 in the Stand Alone. 11.5:1 Compression, Fel Pro Gasketed car.

Now on the fo double oh! I run C14 (112) in my tank and C16 in my Stand Alone. Never dynoed it. Went 119mph in the 1/8th on a 300 shot, and 121mph on a 350shot (progressive) in shittier weather.

It's funny what us Texas Boys are doing with so little ;)

Yup, that was on the lil ole 346 from FMS. Motor is back at Allans for more of a "race style" setup. Ill be spraying 200 out of the hole and another 150 on the roll on this combo. Motor itself should be good for another 50 to 75rwhp as well....

Good to see ya hosing that thing man!!!!

my current setup is a nos 5177 dry kit with no jets in it. pump gas, stock lines, stock rails and 340 intank pump. numbers and times in sig.

i plan to add a 75 - 100 shot second stage to it this year that will spray once i hit second gear, traction would be an issue if i sprayed right out of the hole. how are you controlling your second stage? i was thinking about using a delay box but i dont power shift so that wouldnt work because it comes from wot between shifts.

It is amazing you guys are getting away with running pump gas and race gas in the standalone on such big shots. If this is the case then running 50 percent 100 octane and 50 percent 93 octane should allow me to run between a 200 and 300 shot? If you guys think this is the case please let me know. I am going to try and do some more testing next week on the 50/50 and see how she does on the 200 shot.

You guys are killing me! I can't wait to get my car done! Allan is picking a cam for me. I'll be running a 408 NX direct port. I'm just going to run C16. High compression. On motor I'll run 108. Two seperate fuel pumps. I hope to be done sometime in April. Should be fun.

On my old nitrous setup I "ONLY" used race gas for racing.

NOS Supreme (117) for the track)
Unleaded Plus (104) for putting around town) I never sprayed it on 104, only 117.

I was 12.5:1 comp with a 300 shot.

Almost 800. Spike was there but we smothed it out and ended up with numbers in sig. I run 100 octane.
