Question Need help deciding on a cam...

I am looking for a nice lope and a descent power gain but I don't want to get one with too much duration, because I don't want to have to add vacuum canisters.
What are some sizes you guys have run and your opinions on them.

Thanks in advance.

There's a search button at the top. Just type in F13 or Futral or FM13 or whatever. Click the "display topics only" choice and click search and bam...magic happens.

Yeah, you need to search. A lot of people with lots of different cams have offered up lots of information and opinions. Vacuum canisters? I run the MS3 (237/242 durations on a 113 lsa) and it behaves pretty well once tuned. (in an A4 too) IMO most people who want a little lope but nothing too wild will end up somewhere between 224 and mid 230's duration.

What tranny?

TSP 225...225/225 on a 112 - it'll give you a pretty decent lope, and with a tune, it drives fine w/AC on - no dying in the parking lot (with a tune)

I'll sell you a FM11. 228/230 @ .50 581/591. It makes awesome power, but I'm going bigger.

You are going to want a torque converter with ANY cam. Heck, the stock cam wants one. You'll gain more from a converter on a stock engine than you will a cam. And the cam will be free to gain more in combination with the converter than if stock. You may be leaving 0.7 or more on the table if you get a cam without a converter.

Vacuum canisters????
