I thought it got shot down again and that a front plate is still mandatory?

Someone please confirm.

I haven't been running a plate for the longest, but it'd be nice to know just incase.

I dont see anything about this anywhere. Even on the DPS Website. So as far as I can tell you still need a front license plate until someone can come up with something showing we cant!

from one of the above threads
" got an email from an administrative aide from out local texas state goverment concerning the issues of the front license plate bill. Here Goes.

Sorry for more shitty news.

Representative Dawson passed your email along to me regarding HB 3540 and the provision pertaining to front license plates. HB 3540 did not pass, and while Representative Pitts did incorporate some provisions of his bill into SB 1863, the section regarding front license plates was not included. As such, it is still necessary to have two plates on your vehicle. I hope this clears up some of the confusion. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

Yup, I posted that a while back. I had heard the bill was back in legislation and wrote in to my rep about it and this is what I got in response. Sucks really. I was looking forward to no front plate
