LS2 tuning?
I have not posted this on the HPtuners forum yet, but what are you guys using to tune the LS2? I have an '06 Trailblazer SS and want to tune it ... I have a laptop to run the software and have tuning knowledge, but have not done it electronically before. I am not looking to change it much, but it does have a ton of TQ mgmt and I also want to change the throttle opening rate(?) I believe. It is a good running motor, but you can tell it is being choked by the computer.

I'm using LS2edit, but my scanner hasn't arrived yet. Have a AutoXray unit on the way so I can start doing some real tuning.
It was worth LS2edit, just to get rid of CAGS, raise the rev limiter, and turn on the fans a little earlier.

Nobody is flaming.
Some people are just concerned that if they have their vehicle tuned by a shop that is using LS2 Edit and then either purchase our product, or go to a tunershop that has our product, that they will not be able to re-tune their vehicle.
On the other hand, if they have our product, or go to a shop using our product, they can still go to a shop using LS2 Edit and have their vehicle re-tuned.
IMHO, that is peoples concerns.
They just want to know their options, that's all. They are not trying to flame.

Nope no flames here just trying to inform the consumers about the products and an little quirks they have. If we didnt then we would have an influx of "I got tuned with LS2edit and my pcm is locked how do I....."

OK, sorry, forget it. It just seems that nobody can make a post about LS1/2 edit without somebody bringing up this issue. The locking situation really isn't a big deal.
For what it's worth, I hope all tuners save copies of their customers stock tunes. Whether locked or not, it is bad business to burn a car without backing up their data.

I'm an individual tuner, and they sold it to me. They don't have a "manual" ready, so they only want to sell it to people with some prior tuning experience.
I would love to have tried one of the other products, but decided not to wait. It does everything I need, plus a lot more.

Thanks alot
I really appreciate all the honest, non agenda driven commentary from you guys. I'm brandy new to the Tuning aspects but have a lot at stake in that I have 5 different LS2 powered vehicles and many folks lined up wanting engine packages and tuning services.
I've conducted as much of my own research, mainly into EFI LIve and HP Tuners and I'm ready to purchase Diagnostic / Tuning Hardware and Software for the first time.
You guys don't really instill much confidence in anybody trying to make a fairly crucial, initial decision.

Which model...?
How do you use it in your tuning...?

Since LS2edit does not have an integrated scanner, I'll be using a separate scanner, then using LS2edit to make changes.
I totally acknowledge that the built-in scanning is a big advantage to HPTuners, but I'm comfortable with LS1/LS2edit, and need a separate scanner anyway. Dragging my laptop around in my racecar is really not an option.
