make sure the entire car is raised on jack stands where you can get under the car very comfortably. Thats the only way that you will be able to get the right angle.
1st: unbolt the tranny brace and put off to the side.. make sure to put jack on the tranny to hold it up when the brace is taken off.
2nd: on pass. side make sure you get all the wires that run to your o2 sensors and starter wires are cleared for the headers i wrapped mine in heat wrap just for safetys sake.
3rd: remove all plugs and plug wires.
4th:get the jack and jack up the tranny just a few inches.
5th: get your friend to push the tranny towards the drivers side as hard as he can, if your putting the pass. side in first or vise versa.
6th: while hes pushing you start pushing the header in to place til it quits going up.
7th: now let the jack down a lil bit just a few inches now while doing this kep a hand on the header if it starts feeling tight STOP dont break the header. just jack it back up higher this time though then the last time and do push on the tranny and try to wiggle the header back up a lil more.
8th: repeat steps 4 and 7 til the header is setting in place. do not i repeat do not bolt the header down yet as bad as you want to.
the pass. side seem to me to be the easiest.
for the drivers side you will have to remove the steering linkage. there will be 2 bolts which i think are 10mm in size but not for sure.
after the headers are sitting in place now bolt them down with your new gaskets in place. make sure the gaskets are right bc if you have the pass. side gasket on the drivers side all the bolts will go in except for the 2 middle ones so make sure you've got it right.
but thats bout all i can think bout right now yall feel in the places if ive missed anything. its just a quick over view. good luck with it hope this helps you.

If you have issues of inserting the headers to the engine bay because of not enough clearance you can lower the K member by unbolting the 6 bolts and use a jack to lower it on desired inches to clear the headers. It only took 2-3 inches lowering the K member for me to clear the passenger header to the engine bay. The driver's side header went in without taking anything out. Of course this is with Stainless Works headers. It might be different w/ your buddies headers but I'm sure the same concept would apply either side.

It took a good couple of hours longer than it should have taken to get my lt's in.. it also took some prying and poundin with a rubber hammer lol... lower the k member like bene said, that should give you plenty of clearance to work with on the passenger side, the drivers side is cake, u just unbolt your old header, drop it, and swap the next one up in its place... have your buddy help you from above (i took off my coil packs and obviously the plugs and wires which gave us more room to work with) hookers are def. the hardest header to swap imo... good luck
