Those times are roughly a mid~low 12-second 1/4 mi. pass in an M6. A decent cam (plus supporting bolt-ons of course) and some sticky tires will be enough to get you there assuming you can drive. Only problem is, an M6 might strain the drivetrain enough to snap a gear in the rear. So, when I say supporting mods...it can really rack up the $$$ if you want to do it right/safe. Also, suspension shouldn't be neglected. Just my $0.02.

If it has to get the same mileage, are you wiling to live with a more drag oriented suspension? The right shocks, springs, stiffer control arms and subframe connectors will work wonders for traction, along with better tires. The problem is a slick works best, but not with your stock rear. I'd say at least a 12-bolt, if not a 9-inch, either with 4.10's and a good limited slip for streetable traction.

Those mods should get you about halfway there. From there, add a lid, headers, and a cut-out. See how close you get without a tune. Depending on your DA at the track, that might do the trick without cracking a valve cover. Tuning would help a bit, but I saved that for last in case you needed a cam to make the extra power to get you there.

If you don't want the drag springs and shocks though, you're gonna need a cam at least.

just spray on it if you want to retain mileage. do 12 bolt, all bolt-ons + good n2o tune, spray a 175 shot on it and call it a day.

Minimum mods and fun on the street, get heads with 11 to 1 compression and thunder's racing cheater cam and you want have to buy any headers. This will be a fast street and respectable track car and sound stock. Of course, get decent tires and lightweight wheels for the track. Cheers.

X2...I've seen airlid only cars run high 7.5's low 7.6's on a 150 shot and ET Streets. I persoanlly ran the 7.5 w/ a 224/228 cam and all the bolt-ons @ 92 mph. Did this w/ 2.73's also. Take your pick, the gas will be cheaper though.

Generally your gas mileage is about the same as before the head and mild cam. Sometimes the mileage is better when tuned properly.

100mph trap speeds in the 1/8th usually mean about 128-130mph traps
in the 1/4. That's mph for 10's. It's going to take you a lot of mods to get there
and it's going to cost you many thousands of dollars to do it.

just some nitrous will get you there.. and ofcourse sticky tires. these cars run 8.6-9.0 stock. nitrous wont hurt the mpg and you can just have that extra power whenever you want it. but with an m6 you need to def. get a window switch.. make sure to get a wet shot..

heh...My friend ran a 8.1 in a 01 Z28..only mods 4k stall and slicks. Hell im pulling 8.5s with a 2.xx 60, with stickier rubber i know i could nail low *** 8s, and with gears prolly 7s. It shouldnt be to hard to get there with bolt ons if you can beat that 6spd like a bitch

My car ran 8.40s and 12.9s lid only. After some bolt-ons, exhaust, ported tb, 4.10s, it ran 7.90s@89 mph and 12.30s@113mph. This was with mid 1.8 60fts.
