Just chiming in to try and keep all my info on this swap in the right place.

I have just removed a pretty good BBC from my RS/SS to put in a real racecar. I have now a complete 2006 CTS-V to use for my swap.

The car already has a T-56 so I hope the issues with the shifter and driveshaft are already taken care of. I need to swap in the T56 from the caddy though as the big block didn't do nice things to the trans in it now.

I am going to be using these to mount the engine cheap fix I saw these in the great sticky.

I am ordering these headers if no one has a better idea. Hooker

The drive by wire issue has me a bit flustered but I'll try what I read and just steal the pedal and associated wiring.

I am still investigating the computer issue. I know the current one will need to be modded to run outside the CTS. The wires don't look too bad, I will try modding the stock harness to work in the Camaro. If I fail then I will investigate alternatives.

Since I have the whole car I am going to see about using the stock tank. I haven't seen anyone try it yet so why not.

Hey I just realized that I am moving from BBC to LS2. The mounts I have are solid Moroso's. Do I need to buy SBC mounts?

Oh and I have a Be-Cool radiator/elec fan for the Car. Should I use the one out of the caddy and sell the Be-Cool or visa-versa?

Since you already have the Be-Cool, just use it. If it will cool a BBC it will cool the LS2 without a problem. Also, what the hell happened to that caddy?

look at the windshield....


you'll need the frame "stands" from a SBC car. You can use solid motor mounts if you want, although without modifying how the knock sensors work, it may cause problems. i'd get some nice Energy suspension interlocking graphite embedded ones. (without the spacers)

2. I'd keep the beCool. theyr'e nice radiators, so find a hose setup that will work for you (either use like -20AN hose) or do like I did and find an OEM hose that fits from VatoZone, Napa, etc.

yeah...stuctural roof damage almost always gets a total loss

keep the be cool

the motor mounts on the frame need to the the small block ones....the uppers use urethane in combination with whatever adapters you use

The car was a 10 second street car on juice but I want desperately to have this be a daily driver.

The caddy was crushed by a rather large tree. I looked into having it repaired and the body guys found it needed much more than just a roof.

The AFCO radiator is better than the BeCool one. It has the inlet and outlet both on the passengers side which makes plumbing easier. You can get the radiator, fan, shroud for about $750..

It's called thier double-pass LS1 swap radiator.

Mabe you should get a camaro m6 harness, intake and tb, so its cable opperated. just my .02
