Default Took my little Vortech T trim to the track!

Well what can I say. It has been a war to get my car back on the road and run it. Stayed up 20+ hrs to get everyones cars ready for the MTI boys to come down to SAR for Midnight Madness. Loaded up and first pass out ran a 10.25@134 Looks like I have to reslove the converter lockup and for some reason the 3rd to 4th shift. The dyno number and track pass is with the converter unlocked. And a full weight car. But I will reslove those and run it again. Made 627 to the wheels thru the 4l80 3400 yank 9' and a 28' tire. Heres the slip and video. Thanks for all the help here. I look forward to getting into the 9's on blower and spray it and try to get a low 9 sec pass.

I dont think a T-trim is that little, ask the g trim guys

Thats great though, weather is good for blower cars thats for sure. I dont think I'd be locking the converter up going down the track, no reason for it unless you are running out of gear or you want internet mph numbers. You have the mph to get in the 9s, thats great for the first time out.

I think you are crazy for having 4.11s in there i'm running 3.70s with a 28" tire and I am hitting 7000 through the traps. But the whole time from running 10.40s to now in this car they worked just fine. Be a lot better for street driving also.

A decent converter is pretty efficient up top, you may drop 500rpm locking up the converter at 1000' feet or so and pick up some mph but thats hard on the converter clutch. Something you will have to experiment with but I would probably just drop the gear down and use the lockup on the dyno and highway..

No problem, I'm happy to see good running centrifugal cars out there. 10.20s first time out is great and you are making the power. I went from 10.40s to 9.70s last year changing nothing major really, just takes a little time and fooling with.

I assume by your avatar pic (hard to tell) you have a FMIC on there? Whats your IATs on a 1/4 mile pass if you dont mind me asking.

KP I have the Vortech A/W setup. I just ordered a threaded bung and threaded IAT sensor for the intake. I relocted the IAT and it popped out with the 12 psi So I had to seal it off. No ice or anything used on the run. Just water.

What did you pick up on the dyno Locked Vs. Unlocked? The graph in the sig is locked, right?

Deffinately the first thing to change out is the gears. I run 3.50's with 27" tires, thats what my car likes...

Thats still a great number with the 4L80. What plugs were you running before the TR-8's? I am really digging the Autolite Racing plugs that I picked up. The autolite ARs are what most of the big name racers run, not your everyday autolites.

I talked with Mike (V6bird) thru pm's and we were running tr6's gapped @ 32. I did a pull and laid down 600 rwhp unlocked. Having problems locking up the TC. But I will get it resloved. Car cooled down and changed out the plugs per V6 birds recommendation to the NGK 4554 - R5671A8 racing plugs with a factory gap of 28. Started her up removed 3% of fuel down low in 2 bar SD and did 627

347 I feel thats enuff for now. Start making too much more and traction will become an issue. But I am going to pop some spray in her. Ill load the video of the burnout and the launch tonight. Its all in the suspension. Lord knows I spent a ton on suspension.
