Default How much boost on forged 10:1 compression motor?

I am switching over from a NA/N20 setup to a FI setup and from my calculations, going to a 72cc head will bring me down to 10:1 compression. I currently have a 383 (3.905 bore x 4.0 stroke) with diamond pistons that have -2cc reliefs. I am really trying not to have to switch out my pistons, since this motor is brand new. I am only looking to make 650 whp at this point since my fuel system will only be a racetronix 255 pump and 60lb injectors. I was also told that having a set of LQ9 heads CNC'd to 76cc would not be recommended on a small bore engine such as mine. All help is appreciated.

Depends on the Cam being used on the boost level.

Lets say you use a 232/238 Cam ,you should only need 10lbs of boost which is fine on the 10-1 comp. Your biggest problem will be the fuel system. The Racetronix single will not be enough.

I can't remember who but someone here was saying that the superchargers don't mind the highter comp as bad as the turbos and was successful with some high comp boost. Can't remember much more though.

Safe- 500-550rwhp.

I would just do dual intanks which should handle 700rwhp easilly enough.

Or a methenol kit.

Sorry I forgot to mention, I will have a meth kit installed. I didnt realize that is all those pumps could take. I thought I heard somewhere that the 255's were safe until 650whp and some have gone a little more than that, but it was pushing them. I am making more than 550 now and I didnt realize I may be pushing my pump.

i calculate 10.365:1 if you use a .050" gasket... remember though, diamond piston usually rise about .006" out of the hole resulting in a high c/r. ur at about 10.5:1

We figure on dual intank pumps handling 600 rwhp sufficiently enough. Past 600 rwhp and I recommend replacing the whole fuel system. Bob
