Might wanna start here https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning/368718-read-me-best-ls1-tuning-software-best-scanner-best-handheld.html

I chose hptuners because of its pricing structure, top notch customer support & low cost real time tuning solution. You really can't go wrong.

There are several choices out there,

Everyone prefers the one they sell.

I like ours the best and i even throw in a free tune to get it close.

No question, EFILive hands down. Nothing else even comes close.

Ditto on EFILIVE--I purchased mine from Jesse at WAIT 4 ME--- THE BEST BY FAR--
I researched them all and I am so happy with EFILIVE.
PS---JESSE is the MAN !!!!! I was trained by Jesse and he is excellent and very personalble and patient with computer tuning newbies like i was at 1st .Highly reccomended---always availiable for support and tricky tunes.--I have not had even 1 complaint on the method of tuning that he taught me--and i have tuned over 200 cars !!!

As posted by SSpdDmon, check out the sticky for unbias information and comparison that YOU can sort through, and judge for yourself which is better for you.

Personally I went with HPTuners, much better interface in my opinion. Plus it is very easy to navigate and understand the tables. The pricing structure is also great, and backed by THE best customer service. I am very happy with them.

This question is asked often, here are some examples:

LS1Tech.com: HP Tuners or EFI Live?

Performancetrucks.net: What tuning Software do you use?

Performancetrucks.net: Which is your pick

LS1GTO.com: Which tuning software?

Feel free to check out our forum to see how active and helpful our community is:

Thanks!

Only package that offers a free demo to try out before purchasing. That speaks for the software.

http://download.efilive.com/software...16_540_467.exe

Use it before you buy it.

I guess the thing for me to do is get 60 of my freinds and go to each forum and vote on every board to make it fair. The same guys voted on each one..

EFILive by far I have both softwares and found EFILive's interface a lot easier to work with and understand the software just flat out rocks check the dload link posted above for a free spin of the software and all its goodies. Our current hardware offering old and new covers all the things anyone would ever want from a Scanner/Tunning package

I searched around for a while before I decided which to buy. I found the HPTuners credits system a PITA to work out. Not a good selling point. On the other hand EFILive had the demo version & with a few tunes downloaded from the Holden crazy had me planning my purchase there & then. Not to mention the V1 sellout made it much more affordable.

Eric, really, in all honesty you can't go wrong with either HP Tuners or EFI Live.

I do hope you chose HP Tuners though. Good luck with your decision.

thanks magnus.
I still need to know which software is more user friendly.
can it be used as a scanner.
What are the limitations of the software?
Can it be used on more than one pcm?
Does hptuner have lists of tunes or bins in a directory somewhere that users can try when they buy the program?

I still need to know which software is more user friendly.
you'll hear arguments from both sides on this one, but we have always strived to make our package thee most user friendly on the market & believe we have accomplished this.

You can check out some of our Demo's here to get a feel for the program & how easy it is to navigate around.

can it be used as a scanner.
yes, with customizable histograms, graphs, gauges, etc.

What are the limitations of the software?
few & far between...between the hundreds of available parameters for each vehicle we support, custom 1/2/3 bar custom operating systems, real time tuning free of charge with our custom operating systems, etc...the limits are really endless.

Can it be used on more than one pcm?
yes, with your initial purchase you'll be able to tune up to 4 pcm locked vehicles and can add more licenses at any time via a simple application key emailed to you.

Does hptuner have lists of tunes or bins in a directory somewhere that users can try when they buy the program?
We have a repository with several hundred tunes in it, but we normally recommend this only be used for comparison purposes. Our help forum has over 5500 members now and we actively help members tune their own vehicles not to mention answer any questions along the way as well as offer tuning how-to's & the demo's shown above which will get you well on your way to tuning on your own. And of course if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

sorry gotta lock this... too many times in the past these threads have turned into bitch fests (usually overnight while the mods are sleeping) ...

Basically the answers you're going to get here about which is most user friendly will depend on what software the person posting uses lol
