I'm gonna be checking PR length this winter while the car is down so I wanted to get an idea for what the preload should be on the stock LS6 lifters. They are pretty new with only 5k miles on them but I'm thinking there is just a little too much ticking going on in the engine bay.

And as a side note, I don't have any bent PR's or anything of the sort. The car runs great, just seeing if I can get a little less tick. If not, no biggie, just gonna check it out for my own personal benefit.

Yea, I just saw that thread which made me create this one. I won't be doing it Katech's way. I will be doing it the way Guit's Boy explained. Regardless, I still need to know what preload they work well with.

OEM lifters have .150-.200" of travel. Since it is advised to run in the center of travel, I'd shoot for .75" to .100" of Preload.

I also know Tony Mamo recommends .070"-.110" Preload. Maybe it isn't coincidence that two experts recommend close to similar specs.

i'd probably shoot for close to .075" without going under.

I go .080>.110, seems to make things so much quieter.

Thats what I like too. My stock was .080 and im running .011 over now at .091. Much quieter than when I was at .051 (before milling heads).
