Default 4" downpipe vs. K-member clearance..

Getting ready to begin fabrication on a front mounted single turbo installation. We are locating the turbo at the battery location and using 6.0L manifolds to get off the engine. I would really like to use a 4" downpipe off the turbo and thought I remember a few other members pulling it off. After we threw the SPOHN K-member, a mock-up block into the car I started to stuff pieces of 4" pipe in a few locations and it just looks tight everywhere. If I need to neck it down to 3" I will but wanted to exhaust (no pun intended!) all avenues before then!

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Howard

I have a 4 inch dp in my new setup. You relocate the alt to top and it slides right threw. My setup is similar to OFI I have 4 inch all the way back too catback. it's really tight but fit really nice. Now if I have back preasure probs all I have to do is put a mufflex catback on if I choose.

02ss,

What are you using for manifolds? Did you dump it out the drivers side? I can see that the 4" looks like it would go there....

I thought I had seen somewhere that someone had got it to dump out the passenger side but might be mistaken.

Thanks

Howard

it can be pulled off.....

If i remember correctly, Tiago who has a TT trans am has both his turbo located on each side of the engine bay along with the downpipes in the same route you wanna go...and they are 4"...

Howard you prolly dont remember me but I was the kid who you talked to that has the Turbo 3.8 with HP tuners that i was looking to get dyno tuned. I have a LC-1 wideband to go along with my HP tuners 2.1 along with my laptop and the Innovative motorsports software. I had a schedual at your shop to get the dyno tune, but no one ever contacted me back to approve it. I really do need to get this thing up on the dyno to correct my MAF becaise on 10psi with a T70 im comming VERY close to maxing it out and i dont wanna end up in safe mode. I will try to schedual an appointment with you guys again in late spring after I get my methanol Hooked up along with my new performabuilt tranny....if you cant do it thats fine, the next closest guy that can do it is in new jersey.

I remember now......we had a crazy year last year and where into too many projects. We have a few more guys on board so I can spend more time tuning and keeping the operation cranking. Call or E-mail when you get the meth and we'll get it in.

Regarding the 4"...... I can see that it will go through the drivers side pretty decent. Again any picts would be cool!

Thanks guys.

I wonder if the stock 6.0L manifolds make it harder to get by the passenger side.
