Colbolt 2-bar map sensor install?
HI
I recieved the Colbolt map sensor part # ( 12580698)
today. I want to uses this 2-bar map sensor to be able to tune my car SD. It looks very small, not that that matters, but the nipple that conetcs to either a vac-boost line or to push into a LS1 intake looks small,
How do i install this sensor?
Do i pull out my stock one out and install this one into the same port on the back of my intake, where my stock sensor is?
I hope i ordered the right sensor.
Please let me know
thank you
Walter

Yes that is the correct PN same one I am using for my 2 bar set up and all you do is remove your old one and you'll have to trim a bit off the new one as it is too wide be carful and grind a bit of the left side of it off so it will fit in the stock location once done it will snuggly fit in stock location HTH

OK
Its in.
not too bad to do , tore up my arm a little,
But now that its in , and reading my interceptor scan gauge, i dont see boost being read, but my autometer vac/boost gauge it reading 0-10 PSI.
I guess it wont read boost until i have the car tuned S/D?
does anyone know?

I'd pick up a new silicone grommet for the sensor if yours did not come with one. I purchased mine for about $5.00 and when I took the old map sensor out I was not able to reuse the old one. Also the Wires to the map sensor are pretty tight from the factory, the new sensor is about 1/4 -3/8" shorter, putting that much more stree on the wires. You can free them up a little just follow them back and get any gains in lenght where ever possible

Absolutely sure it is a 2.0....I saw the Delphi engineering drawing.

Are you talking about this one:
http://www.powerandsignal.com/docs/P...s/09350899.pdf
(Got that from this thread )
If so, how can you be sure that that is the correct part reference? Where can you verify that Delphi 09350899 is GM 12580698?
I went ahead and ordered it, but if there is nothing that references those 2 part #'s then I will do a bench test to verify myself I guess...

Same kPa spec but I don't remember if it is the same part number. A Delphi engineer sent it to me in an email with a cross reference to the Cobalt sensor.....which is a BAP sensor not a MAP sensor BTW.....that's what causes all of the confusion since the Cobalt uses a 2.5 bar Map sensor and a 2.0 bar bap sensor. Can't use a Cobalt 2.5 map sensor since it has other integrated funtions.
