Head bolt hole in blocks thread size?

Default Head bolt hole in blocks thread size?

One of my buddies ripped the thread out of the block by accident and needs to know what the size is so he can helicoil it, any help is appreciated, thanks!

they are a 11by 2 metric. witch means 11mm dia by 2 threads per mm

also i doubt a helicoil will hold that much tq. i don't know how you would get it in but i could make you a peice of tool steel with the right thread I/d and with what ever O/D thread you want.

Really? I was a little sceptical about puttin a helicoil in there too, but my buddy knows way more than I do and if he's willing to do it, then it's gotta be strong enough to hold.

thanks for the kit and info guys. for some reason the stud pulled out before i got my first pass in been building these motors for years and this is the first time it has ever happen

Yes they are usually stronger. They are made of cold rolled stainless steel, much stronger than all the damn aluminum threads in our blocks.
