I would say more on the 320 side of that though.

A 93 auto is one of the lower stock dynoing lt1s out there.

How is it that people replied and failed to mention the LT4 intake he wants would be no gain? Milling it to fit LT1 heads destroys any potential worth it has. Internally it is the same as the late LT1 intakes.

Also that the stock gears and a stock stall would be a BIG mistake.

EGR delete is worth exactly zero HP.

All this bad info gets spread around beause people just answer the question rather than setting the noobs straight.

In my oppinion I'd say if you were going into the motor to do a cam swap, and couldn't afford a whole rebuild I'd look into getting the heads/intake ported and put a cam in at the same time. Then do LT's, TB, and Dyno test it to see what #'s you get. You could always do it that way and if ever need be you could do the bottom end later and you'd have a pretty stout street car. Also I'm not exactly sure so don't quote me on this but check into a custom grind cam...I heard they offer more gains... Good luck with the mods. JAMES

only performance gain i see on your list is the

-cai
-hot cam
-LT headers
-tune

i go with what infinitebird said " 320rwhp"

i think you should have put drag radials on that list, thats where youll see gain at the track.

Well I just answer the question because I figure that is the all the info the person wanted to hear. If for every question I replied to, I felt the need to go off on a longwinded discussion about how the person's combo would never work, how they were stupid for considering it, and what all of their problems were, it would just 1. clutter up/hijack most threads beyond any useful purpose and 2. make me look like an arrogant *****.

If a noob posts a thread to the effect of "does this combo work?" and it clearly doesn't, then by all means I have no problem setting them straight. Otherwise, I figure if there is something "off" in their setup and it will take longer than a few sentences to explain it, they will probably figure it out or they can post a question pertaining to that.

Nothing wrong with showing a little tact to the noobs. Besides it's not like there is always one right answer. Even experts frequently disagree.

Do you disagree on the LT4 intake?

Do you think stock gears, stock tranny which sounds like it means stock stall, are the right parts?

These are not parts that there are differing opinions on. It is fact the LT4 intake is internally the same.
It is fact that a cammed car will drive and perform MUCH better with a gear and stall upgrade.

I made the mistake of cam before stall and gear, I do not like seeing people make mistakes even if I made them myself.

yea i agree a lt4 intake would be a big waste of time and money as they are like stated above internally the same. you would have to mod it to get it to fit and gain nothing for it.

i would try maybe some more research because there are IMO better choices out there than a lt4 hotcam as well. you will also want to address your valvetrain when doing any cam upgrade along with quite a few little details and "while i've got it apart" type stuff. and like stated above you're car will be much more enjoyable with gears and a stall. Good Luck.

No I do agree, I was just trying to say I typically like to at least answer someone's question before jumping all over them for picking the wrong combo or whatever.

Well imagine what I am doing right seeing as I have beaten at least one sprayed LS1 with my whale of a car. Had to be seriously embarrassing because he was purging out the ramair hood complete with LEDs as we were staging, in the dark it was really obvious.
