So I finally got to the track today after many mods and with
MT ET Streets (17"). While I did see a lot better ET and MPH
my 60' times still sucked ***, 1.9 and 1.99 where I used to hit
2.1 - 2.0 with the street tires. The ET Streets don't spin -as-
badly but they were far from hooking.

I was expecting more of an improvement from the drag tires.
Yeah, the car is lowered and will never be great for launch,
but still.

I tried them at 30PSI and 25PSI with the 25PSI turning in a
worse 60' (not enough to judge by I think) and 1MPH less.
25PSI was a lot more "squirmy" down-track. I did brief
burnouts, maybe not enough cook time? Left at about 3000
RPM loaded up and just matted it at the light.

What are lowered cars on ET Streets seeing for 60' times?
Any tips on what kind of foreplay these tires like the best?

The ET streets suck ***, I've seen alot of people have a hard time hooking on those.

I wouldn't stall her that high. Try something lower like 1700-2100 rpm and see what that brings.

If you have the bias ply et streets you had way too much pressure in them. Probably even too much if you had the radials.

my radials hook best at 22-25lbs but demand a super long cook time

Considering people run 10's on those tires all of the time I would say you need to do some chassis tuning and get the tire pressure right.

Mind you its now REALLY cold, the track is at the point where it may not hook at all, depending on how much power your making.

I dont care what the heck MT says about pressure on the radials. I went to the track many times this year to get it working and finally after listening to the fast guys at the track.

Best 60' 1.69 which I hit consistently now ( the car is dead hooking the LS7 clutch is slipping and limiting me from deeper 60's not the tires)

I did this at 13-14 psi on a 5500 RPM launch after a five second burnout. Granted I'm on a manual. At 16psi or above or less burnout I was up in smoke with 1.9's. My friend runs the et street bias and also runs 13 psi and hits effortless 1.5 60's in his procharged ZO6

I should also note I am running sportlines with LCA relocation brackets on the lowest hole and even that was not enough LCA angle for me. After my first trip down we reviewed the footage and you could see the rear tucking up instantly so I swapped back into the rear a pair of stock height coils and although it made the car look ghey it worked and I began hooking.

I had more then enough success on mid 20's PSI, stockish power (maybe 330) BMR tq arm, LCA w/ relocation bracket, Pan hard rod, stok springs and shocks. 5000 rpm dump and I got a 1.82 60 foot, I best yet on the last run of the year, I havnt gone back but off the limiter would have netted a 1.7X for sure and that was on a 4.10

Every car is different, some like some tires better then other and at diff PSI, thats why its called Testing and Tuning.

Keep in mind the width of the rim will effect tire pressure too.

From looking at your setup your car seems more of a road handling car, I would possibly consider getting double adjustable shocks for the front and a single adjustable for the rear so you can tune them to daily drive, road race or drag race.

I would guess you're just not getting enough or quick enough weight transfer.

At 3000 u were prolly loading up the suspension. Try bringing your rpm's up to about 1500-1700 and then nail it out of the hole. It helps out alot with weight transfer as in the suspension already being loaded up before the launch. We usually run our et streets at about 18-19 psi. How big is your converter? That will play a big role as well coming out of the hole if its tight.

I don't know about m/t but I had some bfg's and when they were new
I didn't notice a great deal of difference. It was only after about 50
passes and about a year old that they started to hook giving me some
nice 60' then a year later there worn out.

I could'nt get e.t streets to hook for sh*t. I don't like their tires at all for track use. I will try the radial mt tire and see if it's a good street tire. At the track I have had great luck with(back in the old days)the M&H Racemaster muscle car drag tire. 305/40/16 on some old LT1 tims.It has a good amount of thread on the tire and hooked well for me.Now I have been running the M&H cheeter slick 26x11.5x15 w/1.42 60's on motor,1.3's on the gas w/ a m6 trans. www.intercotire.com for M&H tires.

I agree on the MT ET's. Mine hooked "ok", but I didn't like the way they got squirrely at high speed. I went to Hoosier 28" QTP's and love them. 60' is down to 1.53 now. They seem to hook better than the MT's. If you are running bias ply tires, they don't like alot of pressure at the track. I lowered my Hoosiers down from 13 psi all the way down to 10.5 psi and pulled the front wheels up for the first time (and my best 60' - 1.53). Not bad for 3.73 gears...

Now if your talking about drag radials, I'd stick with the MT's. I'm not sure what pressure to run in them though...

The 17" E.T streets really helped me. I was running from 11.01-11.16 with 315/35/17 M/T drag radials. After putting on the E.T. streets I ran a 10.67 & 10.70. I still had to roll into it but had a lot more traction. I got greedy and stabbed it and spun to a 10.91. The pressure has to be low though, I started at 18 and went down to 15, if I had kept racing I might have been down in the 10-13 range.
