Chatter under the valve cover
I have Yella Terra rockers installed on recent stage II head/cam 222/222 114 LSA upgrade with Comp Coms 7.400 chromemoly pushrods Wanted to know if they make lots of noise at idle and under load?

Yes, both. I guess I'm still getting use to the extra noise. One more question, does it sound like a bad push rod/lose rocker as car goes back to lower RPMs? Just trying to make sure.

yeah.....kind of a "tick tick tick" sound that speeds up as you throttle on (follows RPM).....
the fast ramp rates of the car, the hard pushrods, and the valves with higher rate springs (shut harder and faster) all add up to A LOT of noise and with the aluminum block and heads, sound just seems to eco around like in a cave....

I don't know I had a shop do it with the other mods. Its a Comp cam 222/222 LSA 114 with double springs. Raging Motor Sports Stage II heads.
Its louder than stock and when I take my foot off the pedal, its sounds fugly, like a loose rocker or bent push rod. My guess...

HardBlue: I too have Raging MotorSports SII 5.3 heads with 987's, 1.7 yella terra rockers, and all the bells and whistles, and i have the normal sewing machine sound still. Just live with it, just like someone else said above, "Its the nature of a Heads/cam car." If you feel real sure that you may have something wrong, take a valve cover off and inspect your pushrods, who knows, you may have a bent one? Have Fun, P.S. give mark a call, he will be happy to help you out as best as he can over the phone.

Dude expect some more noise than stock.
Especially with the XE cams.
For piece of mind, pull the covers and double check the rockers torque. It dont take long and you will KNOW if your OK.
Again expect some more noise than normal.
Good luck
