Default here comes the noise!!

ok.. just today i heard a popping sound.. first time it has ever happened...

it sounds like it is coming from the center section of the car.

it only does it when im shifting gears between 1/2 or if im slowing down it will do it every once in awhile.

since i have heard it.. it almost does it every time i am shifting at low rpms or am off the gas then give it gas again...

I still have all power and you can not feel the popping sound at all from inside the car.

what in the world could it be?

well got to get under the car today.

i started wiggling the driveshaft and on the rear i have some play so im guessing the pinion bearing is pretty much history.

guess im going to the part store so i can go tear into that.

what all can i reuse during this.. what all should i replace??

can i drop the driveshaft and insert the front pinion bearing from there. or does it have to go through the rear???
