Side exhaust?
Anyways, I have a big *** thread on the ticket for no mufflers...yada yada https://ls1tech.com/forums/texas-mem...p-no-56k.html? and I guess I will change up my exhaust a little bit. What are my options? I really hate cat backs and I really hate tips out the rear. I like my x-pipe. Is there anyway to I dunno run it out right in front of the rear tires with out looking like death? I am open to any suggestions. I guess a little more legal than now? It has to exit the rear or the sides to be legal I believe?

If you read the thread...nah j/k. I got pulled over because he saw it had no mufflers. I got a ticket for " NO MUFFLER" . But now I just don't want to get a ticket every week.

In Texas it is illegal to have the exhaust exit anywhere before the end of the passenger compartment. That means to be legal its tips out the back. Just some info. I like the look of it dumped before the back tires but then ground clearance is an issue. So i say just dump it befor the rear end. I just run it out the back. You can fit dual 2.5" pipes over the rear and out the back look at the 92z in my link.

Like I said I dont mind the loss of ground clearance...some people says it looks like ****, and well apparently the cops here do not like it...So I guess I need to find something else, or at least get some new mufflers? I don't know. I like my duals. And the sound. I don't want a single 3" with cut outs. That is more money and still doesn't sound the same. So I guess side pipes are out, as are tips out the rear. I guess my option is different mufflers and some turn downs.

I run mine out the sides...Its actually an interesting looking set up...pipe comes out both mufflers and u bends back toward the front a bit and 90s out the sides in front of rear tires...Its actually back cut a couple of inches under the car because I dont have ground effects and I thought tips would look very red neckish...I am thinking about getting round to oval transitions, powdercoating them black and using them as tips...I have tons of clearance and the system was done by Performance Auto Fabrication (PAF)...A sponsor here...I dont have pix, but I think PAF does...

personally, I'm not a fan of the side pipes. I guess it could be done shitty or nicely as can anything.
Are you saying you dont have any muffler or that you only got a ticket for no muffler since they didn't see pipes out the back???? I have 3" xpipe setup through bullets dumped. It sounds like nascar if I wind it out, although, under normal driving its just a low rumble and I ususally get compliments and/or a thumbs up. If you really dont have mufflers on your dumped setup, why not try that first?

I have a 3" x pipe and then dynomax bullets. They don't have turn downs but that wouldn't matter. Cop was driving behind me. Saw the exhaust and said I didn't have mufflers. Even though I do. Point is in Texas your exhaust must exit from the rear or sides of the passenger compartment. So I am limited.
