Default Lt1 turbo time, what is recommended by the turbo guys?

During the winter plans are changing and turbo kit it will be. So I have a 388 all forged bottom end and plan to use -31cc dished pistons. The cam will be custom and I will get that later in the transplant. I have Afr 210 comp. heads that were further ported by Phil at A.I. They still use 65cc and I will be using a fully ported lt4 intake, 58mm throttle body. All backed by a th400 and a 3.42 rearend for the turbo build. Now What headers are people using? Id like to make my own kit but if there is one out there for a decent price I might ****** it up. I have only the alternator on my engine and NO a/c, NO abs block. SO there is a lot of room under the hood. Im really thinking about a 76 trim but im open to other suggestions.

There's no header that I've heard of that will work for an LT1 f-body other than custom ones.

Realquick sells some hot parts, but by the sounds of it you'd be better off welding your own.

Shorty headers will work if you reweld one of the tubes on the drivers side to clear the steering shaft.

Vortec truck headers will work too...

Yeah, I've heard of the vortec ones working but I've never see the modifications needed so I always discounted them in my head.

These will work then all you need to do is cut off the ends and weld up v band style
They clear everything on the driver side and the pass. side you will need to a tube to help it clearance the motor mount. but thats on stock motor mounts, it might clear a tube frame tho?

This. Here's some pics of his stuff on my car when it was being mocked up:

And initial mockup in the car:

Really good ground clearance. The down pipe has since been modded and exhaust completed, completely tucks up higher than the sub frame connector. Low points on the car are the oil pan and Tunnel Mount TQ arm.

I think I paid Jon $2K for the hot parts. Turbo is a PT76GTS from Precision. Stock radiator in the stock location, stock fan shroud with slim 12" fans installed in place of the stockers.

BMR K-Member and UMI A-Arms.
