Default Can stock ignition support 600-700hp. Removing 685 box

I'm keep going through optis so I was thinking of removing my Mallory 685 ignition box. I've read ignition boxes are tuff on optis. I have never had a problem until I went forces induction. My first opti lasted 3 years. Now with the procharger I keep killing optis.
Will the stock igniton support my mods. I'm worried at 15lbs the spark will be snuffed out.

What else can cause an opti to die. I do have a pcm4less alternator reclocate bracket. The plugs wires run around the alternator. One of the mounting bolts go right between two of the boots that plug into the opti. The plug wires rest right on the alternator. I dont see any other way to route them. Could this be giving me problems

Crane HI-6 worked fine for me for yrs. But you really need to do the EFI 24x upgrade. Couple of optis will have paid for that already.

I thought there was a one-way valve on the vacuum line going to the opti.
Should I be doing something else.

It is not your 685 box.... and you can do the 24X conversion a hell of a lot cheaper than 1500

Where do you have the vent connections?
Have you tested the valve or replaced the vent harness??

The hose with the one-way valve goes from the intake manifold to the opti. The second hose is vented to the filter side of the blower. I checked the valves out and the one valve barely would flow any air and the larger one worked perfect.

Is the smaller valve meant to restrict flow. I was thinking of removing it to give more vacuum to the opti.

Just curious as to how much you guys paid for the 24x swap altogether I also came up with a $1500 total.

When I ran an ignition box my stock cap had signs of arcing. Replaced with msd cap/rotor and it's been fine ever since.

My car has a MSD set up and my worry is a plug wire will come off and that has to be instant death to the cap the way the leads cross to get odds and evens on different sides of the cap.
