Oil Pan Removal!
Ok, I know the oil pan is a pain to remove on an LT1. I know you have to lift the motor. I have to remove my oil pan and install a new one but I want to make it as fast and painless as possible to get her back on the road. So here is my question:
Has anyone pulled the pan without pulling the engine and tranny from the car? Possible? What is the bare minimum I can get away with to remove the stock oil pan, and replace it with a Moroso?
I know this is probably a stupid question, but I want my car back asap!

i would agree on dropping k member fully and lifting engine... had engine lifted and k member dropped as much as it could go without taking the bolts fully out and still couldn't get the pan out so i just put the new gasket on like that and went on my marry way...

did it in an 84 Z28 once Kind of a pain but itll work Just unbolt both motor mount bolts & jack up or cherry picker the motor as high as itll go Pull your old one off & clean the surfaces really well & install the new pan with black rtv on all 4 corners Let that set up before you fire it back up Might take awhile so dont get too frustrated lol

That is what I thought but I didn't want to sound like a moron...I barely have room to fit wires between the bellhousing and the undercarriage, much less lift the motor...
I will be supporting the motor with a picker and dropping the k-member.

It depends on your new pan and how your pickup fits into it. On my Milodon pan, I had to twist the pan on at a funky angle so the pickup would slide underneath the windage tray. There's no way I would be able to do it with the engine in the car only raised a few inches. In my case it would have to come out, or the k-member all the way down.
