Default 24x conversion questions

I have a 95 formula and I plan on taking on the efi 24x conversion very soon. I was wondering if it would be possible to buy an an ls1 harness and rig it or if that is not possible because im trying not to mess with buying a 96-97 harness and repining it but I also don't want to spend the 750+ for the plug and play harness but if spending that much is my only option then ill do it.
Also I saw somewhere that someone had to modify their 4l60e for the swap or will I be able to just plug in the harness and be ok?
ive been researching but im still new to this so go easy on me lol..

I know I need
efi conversion kit ($540 or the $835 w/ timing cover still debating)
wiring harness
coils
ls1 pcm
tune
96-97 knock sensor
Am I missing anything

I did the 24X conversion when it first came out. Bought the whole kit from EFI Connection.
The only thing that was done to the 4L60E was upgrading the solenoids, and internal wirings to a 96-97. I think the conversion is amazing, especially not having to deal with the optispark once and for all. Vid on my sig was with the 24X conversion. GL

This might be helpful for you:

When I was researching for my conversion there was tons of people repinning their LT1 harness but I never ran across anyone who used a LS1 harness to start with. I'm sure the info is out there, it just might be harder to find.

The newer version with the cover uses a modified crank sprocket instead of a reluctor wheel, which removes one issues a lot of people have with the conversion - getting the correct distance of the sensor to the recluctor due to different timing sets and setups.

Repinning the harness is not that difficult at all. I did mine and found the only difficulty is sorting out what is the right year or trans for your application when working from several sources. There is no one source document specific for your application for the repin. The EFI Connection pinout chart covers every year and trans combo on one chart. With a little homework you'll save yourself $100's. As far as the harness is concerned, the 96-97 harness gives you the best start with most of the right connectors, in the right places, with the right colored wires. Can you start with an ls harness? Sure. After doing it once I could start with a single spool of wire and proper connectors and do it from scratch. Would I want to? Probably not.

The leftovers.

Default LT1 24x with 0411 pcm

Hey guys.figured this would be a good area to get some questions answered.if there's a better area on here please let me know.
I've got a 94 z28 camaro. It's had the 24x and a 0411 pcm installed.its an m6. LE2 Heads cc306 camshaft Lunati 1.6 rollers trickflow pushrods and long tube headers.
My questions are...which tuner platform is best for a beginner? I have no experience tuning other than superchip plug an play style. I've read some articles online about tuning. I'm still pretty foggy on the whole deal though and don't need to mess anything up as I've just built this car. I know of tunercat and efi live.are there any better options. For someone starting out?
Also are there any articles out there floating around with so to say tutorials on tuning? Like basics and where to start tuning The lt1 24x 0411 setup? Are there any standard tunes I can upload to start with?
I'm totally new to tuning but iam very eager and willing to learn. Any I'm put would be greatly appreciated

many tuners, especially for the 24x stuff use HPTuners. Their forum is great and the Mods reply quickly.

Also, if you have a few hours to get schooled and learn all about tuning from the basics to advanced, check out http://fastuunefisimplified.com/

I was wondering if has ever had experience with this harness from psihttp://secure.ultracart.com/catalog/.../HAR-1080.html

because I talked to efi and it will be anywhere from 10 to 12 weeks before I get a harness and I need my car back by the end of this month beginning of next month or if somebody can point me to a harness that I could get pretty fast
