Default AI200 cc heads/cam stock bottom end dyno's 429rwhp

First a rundown of the car
97 Z28, 6-speed with 3.73's
stock 100k mile bottom end
stock waterpump
unported intake manifold
AI 200cc heads
AI custom cam < 230 degrees
Jethot longtubes
3" true duals with spiral flow mufflers
lingenfelter CAI
Descreened stock MAF
58mm tb

I also did 438 and 439rwhp on 2 runs but they said that was caused by a spike from the miss up top.

I'm also getting a miss you can see on the graph. My tuner and the shop thinks the stock ignition system can't handle the cylinder pressure since it's happening at peak torque. It also runs perfectly smooth at part throttle, and the opti has an msd cap/rotor with less than 1000 miles on it that looks brand new inside. I wouldn't be supprised if I picked up some power/torque with the ignition issue sorted out. I also had the highest dynoing stock bottom end LT1 they have seen Anyway here is the graph...

Hopefully I'll have the ignition issue sorted out when the track opens up next year.

Smoke is from the intake manifold not sealing due to it bottoming out on the end rails.

Wow! Thats very impressive!!! Almost hard to believe. But congrats. I also have an ignition problem with my heads/cam set up. Mine is more wavy than that graph lol. Im going to give the MSD Opti a shot w/ their coil and wires and close the gap on the plugs alittle more. Hopefully that will solve the issue. Goodluck at fixing your problem and congrats again.

Wow!

Good numbers, hopefully you can get it dialed in and make some more pulls.

Tony.

Thats very impressive...Yet another reason not to go too big on duration with these motors...I bet that thing is a blast to drive! I would probably start saving for a new/rebuilt short block though...

Those are some of the best numbers I have ever seen from a h/c LT1.

Wow, very impressive. This AI 200c heads must be something to look into in my future rebuild. Again, congrats and hopefully you fix your other issues with the ignition.

Impressive numbers!
Hopefully I'll get to see the car at Gainesville Raceway when it opens back up.

they are very good numbers, not the best h/c stock shortblock numbers ive ever seen but very good none the less. Any plans for a ported manifold and a ewp?

As soon as I get the miss sorted out.

No planes for an ewp since I plan on eventually doing some HPDE events even if I wanted to put one in there's no way to get one to fit with my radiator. I might do a ported intake some time down the road but probably not any time soon.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if you found out your miss came from that $500.00 paperweight they call a distributor. MSD is bad news. If I were to invest that kind of money into a system it would be the delteq or ltcc conversion.

I would doubt that. The opti is not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. I would first consider you plug wires as the dyno uses spark signal from an inductive lead clamped on your plug wires and drum speed to calculate hp and tq. Spark plug wires and plugs can cause a lot of problems that masked as other problems.

I'm just running the cap and rotor, not their whole opti.

It looks like the A/F's are realy lean. Did Jeff Creeck tune your car? looks like it get above 14 at 90mph and ends at 16 were your peak power is, that looks dangarous. Or is it just me?
