I still haven't got my ls1 yet but i was wondering what kind of gas mileage you guys get with the M6? I drive around 50 miles a day 7 days a week so i want to kind of ballpark what its going to cost me.

19mpg on my weekly commute, part city part highway (60%/40%)
Best mileage was 30mpg at a steady 75mph across Louisiana

I get 18/28 when I drive carefully for best mileage. But this is only after I replaced the factory junk plugs so I could put it in 5th @ 30, 6th @ 40. Before plug change, engine couldn't go into OD gears that low. I read on some threads where M6 guys don't go into 6th til around 70 and I have to wonder WTF?

I was getting 30 MPG at a 75-80 cruise from colordao to chicago. I was pretty much exactly there with my buddies low mileage 00 caddy eldorado. These cars can knock down some great mileage numbers if your just drinving normally!

about 240 miles till i hit the half way mark on the gas gauge then we stopped for gas. 8 Gallons to go from 1/2 mark to full, and when i got it down to 1/4 it took 12 gallons, im very impressed with the gas gauge on these 99+ cars. The older metal tanks stayed at full to about 8 gallons, then droped to 1/4 in about 200 minutes of driving, then sat there for a while then nose dive to red, it was rediculous lol.

I drive the same way man, I use the skip shift and it doesn't really bother me. I put it in 6th at 45 mph. I have stock gears, I mean if your slamming the gas at that speed you lug the engine and it bogs and jerks but just giving it just the right amount of gas it accelerates smoothly and doesn't feel like I am lugging the motor or anything. I usually drive between 1k-1.5k rpms and have no problem holding up traffic or with people flying around me cause I go to slow.

i like how people dont drive the living **** outta these cars, and take care of them. Like my dad always says "everyone knows ur car is fast, you dont always have to prove it, and wats the point of having such a beautiful car when you drive so fast and no one can ever see it??"

I get an average of 20MPG and now and thats mostly city driving and a little highway mixed in. Im kinda heavy footed too. When I only had a flowmaster muffler and lid I got over 30MPG on the highway. I still get around 28-29 highway modded.

What the duece? I got stock gears and few mods and I *can* cruise in 6th going 40-45 doing 1000 rpm. It has to be flat ground. I couldn't really accellerate in 6th going that speed, but thats why you down shift. Although, I usually am in 5th at that speed. I'm always in 6th gear cruising 50 or faster. Oh....I can cruise in 5th at 30 mph and not bog trying to accelerate.

lsx engines get great gas mileage.........even the 427ci ls7 corvette doesnt get hit with a gas guzzler tax. Now i wonder what kind of gas mileage the ls2 with displacment on demand will get? thats suppose 2 be in the new camaro's if it happens.

i dont like the idea of displacement on demand, there has to be SOME kind of lag there, there just has to be. anyhow if not, if i get a v8 muscle car, i want it firing on all cylinders ALL the time.

I average about 19-22mpg with about 50/50 hwy/city driving...best I got was 32mpg the day I bought the car on a 400+ mile trip in which 350 was interstate with the cruise set at 70mph. Worst I ever got was last weekend and a LOT of spirited driving and some video making of 0-100 runs and some racing with my buddy I ended up with 16mpg...I drive about 130 miles one way to and from school on weekends that I end up going home and I ussually avearage about 24-27 mpg on my trips, which include some passing and stop and go traffic etc.. 320+ hp and 25-32mpg lol...I LOVE MY M6!!!

I get 15 MPG with pure city driving, but I always have fun with her around town, and I never use the skip shift feature. On the free way in 6th gear at 75 mph I consistently get 31 MPG.
