I just got my sw today and these are what I've seen so far in HP Tuner that I don't see in LS1 Edit (1.4) and vice versa:
1, Max KR vs. Map (Not in PE)
2. Max KR vs. RPM (in PE)
3. EGR Spark Advance correction - Add
4. Startup spark correction mult vs. startup ECT
5. Startup spark correction
There are a few other tables. Some table names are slightly different.
The 2 tables I see in Edit v1.4 that I don't see in HP Tuner are the DFCO and Spark Retard Limit tables.
My 1st impression is that tables are very nicely arranged and all appears w/in the app window, unlike Edit which has each table in its own window (dialog). And it took only a bit over 2 min to read the PCM.

Also, wouldn't #4 and #5 corrspond to the "Coolant Temp Spark Advance" and "Base Spark in Park" tables in Edit?
Thanks for the info...

I went back and looked and Deezel is on the #1 and #2. Those are the same.
I still can't find #4 and #5 in Edit v1.4.
"Coolant Temp Spark Advance" is the "ECT spark correction - Add" in HPTuner
"Base Spark in Park" has same simliar name in HPTuner.
Edit: The Startup correction table contains just 0's for my 99 PCM. Screenshot of the #4 is in the attachment.

"Start up correction' - doesn't seem familiar either?

Personally, I don't think they're significant though.

4. Startup spark correction mult vs. startup ECT <-- would this allow tuning of cold & warm start a little more? Say if i had warm restart issues?
Spark Retard Limit tables <-- i thought this is how you reduce the maximum timing retard during shifts by limiting the max spark retard at your WOT shift points in an A4 car? (ie my car goes to 0 degrees during shifts, limiting it to say 20 degrees at the shift point rpm range @ wot, would limit this 0 degree crap, with some dangerous results possibly with a aggressive tune and crap gas, but maybe not).
just curious ,, i have little knowledge of either but am looking for real world examples of why i might need some tables in hptuner

Startup Spark Correction: During the first 80 seconds of engine operation the VCM has the ability to modify the spark advance based on cylinder air and time. Generally this is used to assist in cold start low speed drivability. The Multiplier table is used to enable and disable startup spark correction based on coolant temperature it is a proportional value between 0 and 1. This value adds to the spark advance.

Interesting tables in HP Tuners- not a huge benefit tho.... See JPG.s in above post by Sonny.FWIW.
