No, the minimum thickness is to make sure the rotor doesn't crack or break in half. If they made the rotor 4 mm thicker then the cooling vanes might be 4mm thicker as well. Think about it.

I don't think anyone cares about the rears.

Ditto, it would be cool if the rears could be bolted up as well...the entire set-up would look great behind your wheels vs. the awesome fronts & cheesy rears

Anyone have any idea if the rears would work???

I care about the rears...but there is no point in thinking about them until the fronts are taken care of.

Ditto, I almost bought the whole set of calipers just to find out.

No real update here, I plan on working with the Evo calipers I have on hand but I'm very busy with parts/kits so I must do what I must and play when I can. I did test the 14" setup on a C6 wheel but you'd still need to run a spacer to clear the wheel spokes. This is a GM C6 front wheel, 18x8.5", +56mm offset with a 1.25" spacer:

I think the issue here is the rim size. The C6 Z06 never ran that skinny a rim. Your going to want a 9.5" or 10" wide front rim with a 275 tire minimum. I just don't see people pairing up a 245 tire with the big brake kit.

I think I'm done with it. I know the 14" rotors and CTSV calipers will bolt right on and clear my rims.

I'll probably keep playing around with smaller sizes to help you little dogs, though. Or you could be a big dog and run some 19x10's like me.

My rims are 10.5! (by 17) so HA! lol

Sucks to be me though

17s + BBK =

Still looking for other options for a cheap kit. The Alpha calipers are a bolt on, but the spoke clearance will still be an issue.

That's what you get for having cool deep dish rims!

My old TT II's just barely cleared the stock calipers.

ok guys im running with 10 spoke ss wheels (17's) and so far i learned from this entire thread.
14" rotor with cts v caliper bolt up with ease to stock ls1 spindle. someone said this fits under 17's??
i also heard 13.4 rotor will fit for sure under the 17's but the caliper must be pushed to the center more.
im not sure if the 3rd gen spindle fits on the 4th gen but looks like it bolts perfectly under the 17 with the correct bracket.
i am going to try to do this but dont have no parts, my dad is a machinest so redrilling rotors and making brackets and machineing wheel spacers are simple.
i am going to go with the 13.4 z51 rotor if that gives me correct spacing and everything. also i heard maybe the 300c rotors will fit with possibly redrilling? i am going to give the evo calipers or alfa romeo calipers a shot, the evo ones since the mounting holes are shorter and there will be more room to machine a proper bracket, and then we see if this will all tuck under the 10 spokes nicely! i hope this will be the best possible way, if anybody has any other suggestions since i can redrill the rotor holes and make my own brackets, please let me know what would be the best combo.

ED,
Say you went custom fikses, what size wheel and offset would you need for the front to make this setup work?

That info is gold!

Thanks!

It can be done, I have seen a set on a F-Body with my own eyes. Sitting behind the HREs it looks GREAT! But as he bought the car with the mods already done, he doesnt know what rotors are used to make all of this work, if they are custom 1 off's or a production. They are a 1 piece cross drilled rotor, wish I knew where they came from.

so you were able to mount the cts-v calipers with 14 inch rotors without any cutting? and did you have to change the wheel lugs?

I'm pretty sure any rim that clears the C6 Z06 caliper and rotor will clear the CTSV calipers as well.

You can get a Disc Brake Wheel Fitment Template for that setup here.
http://www.kore3.com/downloads/fitme...es/DOC0019.pdf

Ed could probably verify that this template will work. Then you just print it at 100%, hold it on your hub and measure what rim will clear it. Or send the template to Fiske and let them build your rim around the brake setup.

yes / no
He did have to had to add a hub adapter to push that skinny rim out to clear the spokes, though..

Well i am runnign 275/35/18 all around on 18x 9.5 inch c6 z06 replicas. I think off set is +50 but i am not too sure. I would rather use longer studs with spacer, than to use a hub adapter. and with no cutting i rather use this than c6 z06 calipers.
So, can I use longer studs with a spacer?
And can i get a picture of that from the back side of the brake?

I'm not sure what car you have, but if it's a LS1 F-body and you have the stock brakes, just measure how much spoke clearance you have. This setup sticks out about an 1 inch more.
