Exclamation 350 small block help!!!?

hey guys i have a 350 sbc and im having problems with my distributor, its literally frying my rotor! it burned holes through 2 already... also when i take off my distributor cap its beat to hell and melted as well... if anyone knows anything about what may cause this please let me know thanks guys...

What kind of ignition are you running?

What kind of distributor are you running? Also are you running an ignition box, if so what kind? A little more details on your ignition system and we might be able to help.

msd distributor and no ignition box, i just gotit started and running but now its jumping timing like 4 degrees when its revved... im thinking the distributor rods are stripped...

distributor rods? Is that like a muffler bearing?

no, my distributor rod that goes down to the crank and cam... i think the teeth that connect to the cam are stripped... im going to just buy a new distributor and see what happens.... thanks guys!

Rotor is out of phase w/ the cap, causing hi voltage scatter??
Excessive end play on the shaft?
Your colorful description of the damage leaves one wondering, WTF is he talking about.
"Beat to hell, and melted" means what??

If you can't explain it post pictures. BTW your distributor doesn't go down to the crank. Not being a smart *** just making sure you know. Also If you are running an msd with no ignition box then I would think it is a HEI style distributor?
