Exclamation Doing Targa top conversion, need a TRUE subframe connector.

I need SFC that tie both front and rear together, I have seen many out there that do not.

Recommendations?

For your app. Id go with a boxed sfc. Midwest chassis makes a good one. Or go with bmrs

Another vote for Midwest Chassis

if you look at installed pics, the others completely bypass the rear subframe and bolt to the lca mounting points. The MWCs weld to both the front and rear subframes

i agree with everyone else. i have been researching back and forth and i am about to purchase the MWC subframe connectors because they are actually true subframe connectors unlike the other companys. they offer them in black and red. $155 shipped and are weld in, not bad at all!!! and from what i can see from pictures they tuck up very nicely should not have any problems with clearance issues.

I saw their site picture, I was hoping someone actually had them installed so I could see multiple angles and everything.

I will look to see if I can round up any more pics, but I can assure you that the MWC sfc's are a true frame connector and have more contact area than any of the other ones out there. The only other way is a thru-floor connector and most of you won't want to get into that operation.

Thanks SSVert, I would just like to see other pics of where they weld up and all just to be sure I would be able to get it done at the same place I planned on getting it done.

"True" subframe connectors? The 2 and 3 point ones offered by UMI and BMR aren't complete? What good are they then?

Interesting. Do the midwest chassis connectors also give you more jack points? Just curious, because for example my Trailblazer is a full box frame truck and I can jack anywhere along the frame (really handy to do it in the middle when rotating tires). That was always a complaint I had with my Camaro, the subframe in the back didn't give very much space to get a jack AND jackstand underneath.

Quick Reply: Doing Targa top conversion, need a TRUE subframe connector.
