Unhappy my car has no low end power/torque

i compared my dyno graphs and hand overlaid my bolt-on gaph and my latest, the entire curtent graph (hp/tq) is lower than the bolt-on one all the way till 5700rpm. and were talking as much as 25hp and 30tq difference in some places. and if i overlay my previus cam's graph at 4000rpm i lose 60hp and 55tq why oh why did i switch cam's

sorry i just had vent my sadness. going the track friday night so ill see how i really stand.

236/242 .586/.586 116

Big f-cking cam equals no ***** at low/midrange rpm. Most people do not seem to understand that.

I think the cam might be to big to not have the heads to support it.

get a diesel engine and run it on peanut oil and is your car a 6 cylinder?

those numbers are horrible.

in all seriousness where'd you find this cam? why a 116? why such low lift for huge duration? why suge a huge ballsy cam with no heads/90/90?

I was actually planning n2o but decided against, and was planning heads and FAST but because of a certain performance shop who shall remain nameless (not LG motorsports) I'm broke and in debt. it will be awhile before anything else happends unless someone has some heads or intake forsale at a reasonable price.

as for the cam it was a custom grind i had at a machine shop for $40... i know..

as for big cam=no low/mid end, i know this but wasnt expecting this much

Thanks for being the lab rat!

i suggest you throw this cam in the trash or grind off about 5 degrees of duration on the bottom side of the cam for each lobe(int and exh). 360-116=244 = bottom side of cam.

that way it could be a 232/237 @ 111LSA~

this would be an interesting cam to see! although the lift is still low...

take a guess i origanaly want 236/242 .605/.600 116 (something similar to an "S" cam 238/242 .608/.612 115LSA but lil low lift for my 918 springs) but .586 was the biggest lift he said he could do off a stock cam

Thats retarded. Why not just come off $400 for a cam with new lobes, maybe then youll have better results.

Well i figured if you could afford such great advice from a shop and i assume they tuned it/installed it that you could afford a new cam. After the second tranny I would have found a new shop.

EDIT** I retract what i said, i didnt realize you had a 4K stall.
