New tires will be mounted today and I can get some pics in the daylight! I used aircraft stripper, 88cent walmart brushes and a couple hours of my time. I love it, and since its the wifes car shes happy.

I like how you can see the red from my Camaro on them...

Get Aircraft paint stripper from autozone (I bought a gallon and its WAY WAY WAY more than you need, for 25 bucks), some cheap paint brushes from wal mart and some good thick dishwashing gloves cause the stripper will burn your skin.

Paint the stripper generously on the wheels and within minutes, the clear starts to peel and bubble. I let each wheel sit for about 30 minutes and then I sprayed them down with a hose and nozzle. Dry them off real good and then re-apply the stripper until all the clearcoat comes off. Rinse and repeat. Then when all the clear is off, get some Meguires, Mothers, whatever mag and aluminum polish and polish em up.

I applied the polish by hand, do it and a black residue starts forming on your rag. Dont let the polish dry, just keep applying it and then after a couple coats, buff it with a clean microfiber towel or use a Mothers power ball. Came out real nice and it was NOT hard at all. In fact, since I have so much stripper left, Im going to do my dads WS6 wheels pretty quick here too, and when I do I will offer my own writeup with pictures and all. I know theres one floating around here somewhere, thats where I got the inspiration!

Seriously though, its very easy to do and the results are AMAZING. The wife doesnt even want new wheels now, so that saves me some coin too!

looks great, the stock clearcote on those wheels really remove the shine, even compared to the older style wheels, those look great, as shiney as my chrome wheels.

Will this work the same for the 96-00 WS6 wheels? I have the 01-02 speedlines now but was thinking about getting a set of the older style.

Yeah, it'll work. My dads WS6 is an 01 with the thinner style spokes. I'm still waiting for my dang tires to come in so I can get them mounted on these wheels and I can take some better pics. Grr FedEx

They are polished but lack the shine.

Yeah, just polished, no chrome. And then GM puts a clearcoat on them and over time it really makes the wheels lose a lot of luster.
