would be costly. wheels would have to be completely stripped of powder coat, then find a place that is able to chrome dip parts (this is where it gets pricey). Would be cheaper to order new chrome set.

Contact a local powder coater and ask them who they know of that can chemically strip them. It's a process where they dip them in vats and it is usually automated. Pretty quick turn around and most coaters probably have one they work with to strip parts they are recoating. These kinds of chemicals don't weaken aluminum either.

What about getting just the outer tip polished since the wheels don't really have a lip to them? Would this be very costly? I think it makes it look a ton better for some reason. Similar to this car:

Take them to a powder coater and have them do it in Super Chrome Powder Coat. Looks pretty good and should be a bit more cost effective than having them stripped-n-dipped.

Eh, it looks good for a powder, but it looks like poorly polished aluminum. Or like factory cleared polished aluminum after years of service.
Definitely a good option as most people would never guess it was a powdercoat. If you really want them to be shiny, either trade them or take the time stripping them and then polishing them.
